Evolving Ridge Preservation. Clinical Decision Making with the REBASE Framework

Post-extractive bone resorption is a biologically driven process that can compromise future implant therapy, often necessitating complex and invasive hard and soft tissue augmentation. To minimize such interventions, ridge preservation must go beyond the simple placement of biomaterials and follow a structured, biologically informed strategy.

The REBASE Framework presents a modern, stepwise approach to ridge preservation, grounded in essential clinical pillars and adaptable to both current standards and future advances in regenerative dentistry. This lecture will explore how each phase contributes to predictable hard and soft tissue outcomes, from atraumatic extraction and socket classification to material selection, biologic activation (e.g., with Regenfast® or PRF), and achieving tension-free closure with the use of advanced biomaterials or tissue grafts.

Drawing from clinical experience, translational research, and real-life cases, this session will equip clinicians with a comprehensive and reproducible protocol to optimize both esthetic and functional results in post-extraction sites.
