The Medium Concentration Mask is a small capacity variable performance mask. At a flow rate of 6-8 litres/minute, the MC Mask delivers an oxygen concentration of 40% to 50% depending on the patient's breathing rate and tidal volume.

Extra equipment must also be on-site to deal with the emergency efficiently. The job of an oxygen cylinder kit is to contain both the oxygen and the equipment required to treat a patient for the first thirty minutes or so of a medical emergency.
